Ahh, it’s that time of year. The leaves start changing color, the days get shorter, and everything at Trader Joe’s has suddenly turned orange. That’s right, it’s fall.
Pumpkin Spice season gives us the opportunity to shake up our wardrobes and trade in micro mini skirts for knee high boots and cardigans. And before “latte makeup” and “butterscotch nails” (look, now y’all are just messing with me… and making me hungry), there was late 90s and early 2000s fall fashion.
Few shows epitomized this more than Friends. One of my absolute favorite go-to shows for outfit inspiration (listen, if you didn’t want to wear that little plaid skirt/sweater number Rachel wore when she lost Ross’s monkey, then you’re just heartless), below are six looks from Friends to help you figure out what to wear this fall.
Brown Midi Skirt + Knee High Boots
Latte nails?? Psh women in the 2000s were head-to-toe looking like whole-ass brown sugar shaken espresso. In all seriousness though, I LOVE chocolate brown in clothing and am ready for it to make a full blown comeback very soon
Plaid Skirt + Sweater
The plaid skirt in question
Corduroy Pants + Sweater
Nothing says fall like tan corduroy pants. Well, that and excessive amounts of cinnamon and/or nutmeg
Pleated Skirt + Knee High Boots
Rachel sure loves her skirts and knee-high boots. Same girl, same
Maxi Skirt + Turtleneck
2023 Monica would totally wear this to host Friendsgiving. Pun not intended, but honestly embraced
Trousers + Loafers
Loafers are very much in-style right now, so here is a great, simple, way to style them
