if you grew up in the 2000s, there’s a good chance you’ve seen the film masterpiece known as Uptown Girls (not to be confused with the Billy Joel song.. which, again, shouldn’t be an issue if you grew up in the 2000s)
the film follows 22 year old free-spirit Molly Gunn as she becomes nanny for spoiled and uptight 8 year old Ray, played by a very mature Dakota Fanning. I don’t know who to identify with more in the movie – Molly, who doesn’t want to grow up, or Ray, who is an actual child. Ultimately, the movie teaches us all a little something about the inner child in us.. and that you can apparently wear a lampshade in your hair and go out in public
