although Punxatawney Phil saw his own penis or whatever and predicted another hellish few weeks of winter, we can’t stop daydreaming about spring. How can you argue with a season that’s not too hot, not too cold and all you need is a light jacket.
today we’re combing through our favorite looks from the internet’s favorite funny fashion girl, and giving you four perfect spring outfits to wear the minute it hits 69.99999
Happy Hour
Wear this corset/jeans/cardigan combo to grab a drink-post work on a warm April Friday. The more grandpa-y the cardigan, the better it offsets the overt sexiness of the corset to really help pull together the look. And best of all, you can ditch it after when the hour is inevitably a little *too* happy and you end up out at bars later
Brunch
You won’t need to worry about looking basic at brunch in this fit (not that you should ever worry about that, because there is nothing wrong with enjoying brunch and we do not need to fall into the trap that is society shaming females for their interests). The boots elevate the look and will keep you warm if you get seated at that one table that’s sort of shady so it actually feels kinda cold even though it’s nice out?
Running Errands
Okay so the one thing I’ve never quite gotten about the whole “dont wear white after Labor Day” thing is that it’s technically always after Labor Day? Because time is on an infinite cyclical loop that continues until we die? So if you think about it, it’s always after Labor Day, and it’s also always before Labor Day. Anyhoo, uh, this outfit could not scream “spring” any more. The soft cream (that’s what she said) tones are apt for the slowly warming days, and it feels effortless and light. Ashley’s heels are a style that’s generally one of the easiest items to thrift so head to your local thrift store and see what you can find! Bonus points if you find a short-sleeved button down like she has on here – just cut off the bottom so it’s a perfect crop
Rooftop Drinks
Spring nights tend to still be a bit ~nippy~ so we like the idea of wearing pants if you’re going to be outside. We’d recommend pairing this suit vest-and-trouser look with some low-heeled mules, similar the ones in the last picture, and a leather bomber jacket. A suit vest is another item that is worth trying to thrift if possible – we’d suggest starting in the boys section.
